By requesting an interior consultation with Dekkobird Design, it is understood that the client has agreed to accept the following terms of service:

1. For interior design consultancy, the scope of the project will be set out and agreed between the designer and the client and a fee estimated at the briefing stage. This will be set out within a project fee proposal and must be signed by the client to confirm the work.

2. Should the client request additional services that the designer deems to be above and beyond that specified within the agreed project fee proposal, an additional fee will be incurred, dependent upon the scope of the work, however no charge will be made without the client's prior agreement.

3. Upon confirmation of the project brief with the client, fees must be paid as follows;

a. For all design consultancy services, a deposit of £100 (where more than one hour of consultancy has been booked) must be paid upfront, with the remaining balance, as agreed between the client and designer, to be paid on a monthly basis until project completion. Where a project is ongoing over an extended period of time, a monthly payment schedule will be set out for the client to adhere to.  Payment is expected within 14 days of invoicing.

b. In the case of a one-off or ‘quick’ consultation, the fee must be paid in full upon booking the service. The consultation will not be carried out if the fee has not been received at least 48 hrs prior.

4. The first consultation on site is included free of charge (up to 1 hr), should the client proceed to book in a design service with Dekkobird Design. If the client decides not to proceed with a design service, the meeting will be charged at the hourly rate, plus any travel expenses incurred (where appropriate and as agreed with client prior to the meeting).

Subsequent on site or in home consultations are charged at a fee of £70/hr.

5. For home consultations outside of the Greater Belfast area, there will be a surcharge to cover fuel costs and travel time. This will be communicated to the client upon booking.

6. A ‘revision’ consists of changes to products/finishes the designer has proposed within the design scheme.  Should the designer feel that a revision will require a substantial amount of additional work to be carried out OR the client requests multiple revisions, the designer has the right to charge an additional fee, however no charge will be made without the client's prior agreement.

7. Dekkobird Design does not accept any responsibility or liability for any incorrect furniture ordered by the client or furniture that may be the wrong size, wrong colour or arrives damaged.

8. Dekkobird Design works on the assumption that the client checks the dimensions of the furniture pieces recommended to them before purchasing. Dekkobird Design will not accept any liability or responsibility for furniture ordered by the client that isn’t to their satisfaction or needs to be returned.

9. Dekkobird Design works on the assumption that clients have acquired paint samples of colours suggested, particularly if they have chosen to have them colour-matched. Dekkobird Design will not accept any responsibility for incorrect colour matches by the paint supplier.

10. Dekkobird Design does not accept any responsibility or liability for the standard of work produced by tradespeople hired by the client.

10. Additional design services outside of the scope of the service agreed with the client, will be charged at the designer's hourly rate.  These services may include, but are not limited to, additional home consultations, meetings with contractors, additional project management, delivery co-ordination and shopping services etc.

11. In the event that the client cancels the agreement after the designer has commenced work, a percentage of the overall design fee agreed at the outset will be charged, dependent upon how much work has been completed.  This is non-negotiable.

12. In the event that the client decides not to proceed with any further consultation services following the initial home or on-site consultation, the pre-paid fee of £100 is not subject to reimbursement.
