A little about me

Keira Marshall, founder

As a self-employed designer, I run the business from my home studio.

I’m a proud mum to three wonderful kids and married to an ever supportive and patient husband!

I grew up in the beautiful Irish countryside in a home my parents designed and built, showcasing their love for Scandinavian design and considered use of colour. This aesthetic remains at the core of my design style today.

I get my inspiration from everywhere, everyday… a colour scheme in nature, a beautiful tile, a movie scene, a store interior.

I unwind by exercising outdoors, reading, gardening, baking, creating… and I LOVE a bit of DIY :)

I’m an avid cold sea dipper.

I’m a cat mummy to Sebby, an adorable tabby and all round ladies’ man.

My tipple of choice is a gin & tonic if you’re ever buying…

Dekkobird Design is a small interior and decorative design studio based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. ‘Dekkobird’ started as an interiors blog which I created as a platform to share stylish yet affordable design ideas to likeminded followers, whilst studying for an interior design diploma. In 2017 I set up my own business, Dekkobird Design, where my passion for creating beautiful interiors at an affordable price tag, is at its heart.

I love to mix Scandinavian, modern and midcentury designs to carefully craft spaces that are cosy, characterful and most importantly, reflective of the people who live in them. I work closely with my clients at every stage of the design process, listening to them and taking inspiration from their lifestyle to tailor a space that reflects their individuality. From concept design right through to layout planning and finalising design schemes, each and every client can be assured of a friendly and professional approach throughout.

I am honoured to be an associate member of the prestigious British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) and Dekkobird Design has been awarded ‘Best of Houzz Service’ on a number of occasions.
