I probably don’t have to tell you that Pinterest is a fabulous resource for getting inspiration for everything from kitchen cabinet colours to what to eat for tea tonight, but it’s also a great place to suss out what’s trending at the moment in the interiors world in particular. With this in mind, I thought it would be fun and informative to take a look at some key looks and design trends that are pretty hot right now and show you where you can source similar pieces. With Spring being the most popular time of year to turn our attention to home decorating projects, I’m hoping these Pinterest inspired posts will help you along your way. (See, I’m doing all the hard work for you!!)
If you’ve picked up a glossy magazine or basically been anywhere near civilisation lately, you’ll be aware that blush pink is having a major moment in the fashion and interiors worlds. It seems that we all sat up and took notice when Pantone announced Rose Quartz as one of its colours of the year for 2016, and it certainly looks as though it’s here to stay for the foreseeable future (which I suppose is a good thing if you’ve just invested in a new blush pink suite…)
I recently saved this beautiful image onto one of my Pinterest boards, as it showcases the almost perfect collaboration of blush pink with its close allies grey, and of course, copper. I really like the oh-so soft shade of lavender blue used on the walls and the clever use of little pops of monochrome pattern to add a certain depth and edginess to the look. It shows how you can successfully and stylishly use pastel colours in your decor, but not to the extent that you feel like you’re living in a packet of marshmallows!
