I recently took a look around my local Dunnes Stores homeware section and am pleased to report some lovely little finds in the Carolyn Donnelly ‘Eclectic’ collection – as the name suggests, this is a range of products for the home with a certain quirky, handcrafted vibe. Although an Irish department store, Dunnes has started to branch out into the UK, however they do deliver outside of Ireland, so pop over and check out their website’s entire homeware section here. For now, here are some things that caught my eye from the Carolyn Donnelly range…
The A/W collection this year at Dunnes is full of bright colour and striking pattern and I think this woven cushion at £26 combines these two key looks perfectly.
And here is the rectangular version…
I also love this wool tufted ‘Mandara’ rug. The Moroccan inspired pattern is very much on trend for this season and I think the pink and turquoise colourway is beautiful. A fresh addition to your home and not a bad price tag of £125 considering its 100% wool content.
A set of these ‘Rueben’ chairs would look great around the kitchen table, particularly if your style is retro. They would look equally good in a dominantly white setting, allowing the colour to really pop.
This printed ceramicware range contains coffee mugs, egg cups, plates, dainty serving dishes and jugs. Their style reminds me of the Danish homeware brand Greengate, known for its easily recognisable pretty prints and patterns. I like the way these pieces can be mixed and matched to create an effortlessly relaxed and fun look at the dining table. See the full collection here.
There are lots a pretty, yet practical storage solutions to be found, too, such as this green metal storage basket, from £10. It comes in three sizes and in pink, navy and grey also. Perfect for storing books, magazines, kitchen utensils or even bathroom towels.
I picked up one of these set of bird hooks for my little girl’s bedroom. Ideal for hanging strings of beads or her little handbags from. Aren’t they so adorable! And only £5.
Did anything catch your eye? Remember there are other homeware ranges offered at Dunnes if the vintage / eclectic look isn’t quite your thing. Try Paul Costelloe Living for more modern design or Considered by Helen James for pared back simplicity and design inspired by Helen’s love of cooking.
Well that’s it from me, enjoy the rest of your weekend!
