For many, the past few weeks have been a whirr of Christmas get togethers, festive drinks, work parties, Yuletide craft fairs, school nativities, present buying, present wrapping and Santa visiting, and quite frankly, I think it’s time to Relax. Unwind. Put the feet up. Chill. Don’t get me wrong, there’s still plenty to do and pull together in the final run up to the big day, but for me, when my three little ones finish up school for the year I really feel the holidays can begin in earnest and the manic stress of the preceding weeks of shopping and rushing around can pass for another year. I’m happy to be at this stage of the festive season when the brunt of work has been done!
2015 has been a very exciting year for me. First we put our home on the market, then I decided to start the Dekko Bird blog. On hindsight, probably not the best planned time to embark on a blog, but I did and I’m so glad I took the leap! I have had so much fun writing it and hearing from people who are actually (amazingly) interested in reading what I have to say! It has been a huge learning curve for me as I have struggled on with the technical side of blogging, but it has also brought new opportunities my way that I wouldn’t have dreamed of before I set out on this little blog adventure. I am therefore very grateful to everyone who takes the time out of their busy lives to read and share a little of what I have to say, so I just want to extend a big thank you to all of you for this.
As for 2016, we are hoping to move into our new home in Belfast at the beginning of the year and I am already looking forward to sharing with you my home decor projects, both big and small. It has been hard not having that element of home life to share on the blog, especially since my major focus is on home style and interiors, however watch this space in the coming months!! It’ll be fun to bring you along on the journey.
I’m going to take a two week break from the blog over the holidays for some well needed rest and relaxation with my family, but you will still be able to catch me and my regular ramblings and discoveries on Instagram and Twitter (@dekkobird) or via my Facebook page over the holiday period.
For now though, may I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a peaceful and prosperous New Year. See you in 2016!
